Dr. Tola

Psychiatrist - Emotional Wellness Strategist

About

Hi, I am Dr. Tola T’Sarumi, but call me Dr. Tola, a licensed Psychiatrist and Wellness Strategist. I’m an Addiction Psychiatrist at Mass General Brigham/Mclean Hospital and Faculty of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. I am very passionate about my assignment here on earth and yes, I am the doctor who believes that internal preservation is the best healing and who also loves all things fashion.

If I wasn’t a psychiatrist, I’d be a fashion stylist 🙂 Mental wholeness and it’s correlation to suicide is an epidemic. As a kid growing up and hearing whisperings about the suicide of my uncle who was in his third year of Residency brought so much sadness to me and the fact he never saw his kid grow up or his grand-kids. However, the number one issue I see now as an adult is that we never talked about it. It was a hush hush topic and so this comes from a personal place; hence, my mission. We can’t be silent and neither can we allow people suffering stay silent.

Suicide is not an option for anybody but it becomes the only option when wholeness is absent. I believe that when we:

  1. Do not accept our disappointments
  2. Have expectations
  3. Lose zeal in accomplishing our goals we become candidates for pain and suffering.

I believe that we should find completeness in who we are and in what we do.

My mission is to stop the stigma associated with suicide. People are hurting and we should hurt with them.  I want to promote compassion love and care towards each other and toward self. We should first give the love that we so hunger for to ourselves and know that we are special; relevant and that we each have a story to tell.

The only way to tell that story is to be alive to share it. I urge you to stay alive. Walk with me on this mission.

You are NOT alone.

You were never alone and you will never be.
